Why is your photo blurry?

Open the photo you want to sharpen, click "Layer" on the main menu, select "Duplicate Layer" and click "OK" to create a duplicate of your photo. Creating a duplicate lets you experiment with sharpening while leaving the original unaffected. Click "Filter" on the main menu, click "Sharpen" to load the Sharpen filter group menu and then click "Smart Sharpen" to load the Smart Sharpen dialog.

Click the "Preview" check box to display the results of your sharpening effect in the Smart Sharpen dialog. Click the "Amount" slider and drag it to the left to reduce the amount of sharpening. Drag it to the right to increase the amount of sharpening. Click the "Radius" slider and drag it left or right to adjust the width of the sharpening effect. Click the "Remove" pull-down menu and select the type of blur you're trying to remove.

Recommended Answer. Good morning. There are no tools or features in Google Photos or any other photo editing software that I know of that can make a blurry photo clear. That's just not something that's possible. However, depending on how blurry the picture is, it may be possible to improve it a little bit. But, nothing will be able to make it perfect.

In Google Photos, the editing interface has a slider called Pop. You can try moving that back and forth to see if it helps improve your picture. You'll also have to use the advanced Lighting sliders to counter-balance some of the darkening that results from increasing the Pop. It will require a lot of back and forth playing around with the tools, but if the original image is only slightly out of focus you might end up with a half decent picture. Platinum Product Expert.
